The focus of the project is the translation of poetry in form of creative movement, performance and dance. Normally, dance and poetry are seen as separated forms of art, now they complement each other and obtain a more intense expression. The special relation between words and movement and how they enhance each other is shown. In this process the dance itself is not a completely new interpretation of a poem, it aims to convey the meaning verse by verse instead. The poem itself, written by Christopher Lautemann, has a political background, describing lyrically the inner strife between the different political positions – left wing, right wing and center – and a reversion to the fundamental values of democracy. It is split into two parts, each of them represented by one of the dancers, Alessandra Corti and Jorge Bascuñan. Class of →Prof. Florian Jenett, in collaboration with →Lena Manger.
